From the L.A. Times:
On Fox News Sunday today, Senator Dianne Feinstein (D-CA) said she’d be okay with Gitmo detainees being transferred to maximum security prisons in her state.
At first I thought the people of California would probably be against housing these terror suspects. But then I remembered all the anti-war protests and the number of attacks on the Marine Recruitment Office in Berkely, CA during the Bush Administration years, and realized the terrorists would probably be more welcome in California than anyone presently serving our country in the Armed Services. To prove my point, I will direct you to Zombie’s site.
Zombie has a number of excellent photos in his/her collection of anti-war protests here, here, here, here, here, here, here, okay you get my drift. These links are just back through 2007. There are many more from earlier in the Bush Administration.
If you’ve never been to Zombie’s site, please go and check it out. He/she has spent many years documenting the left’s protests and rallies in California. It’s definitely informative and eye-opening. One word of caution though. Protesters from the left tend to be a little more free with their use of expletives and more open about displays of nudity. So, some of the photo essays ARE NOT kid friendly.
Given that the left in California seems to be so anti-war and anti-military, maybe California is the safest place to send the Gitmo detainees. At least, safe for them.
