From Politics Daily:

Air America has announced it will end all broadcast operations and file for bankruptcy protection.

“The company will file soon under Chapter 7 of the Bankruptcy Code to carry out an orderly winding down of the business,” Krieker wrote.

Air America was founded in 2004 and filed for bankruptcy protection two years later. It managed to remain on the air but continued to struggle to find an audience and advertisers.

The bankruptcy of Air America proves that the audience for “progressive” ideas is small, and there is not enough support for such ideas in the free market. The only way liberal views survive is by being subsidized with taxpayer dollars (hello PBS and NPR). But here in the U.S.,  it’s sink or swim in the pool of capitalism.  If you cannot run your business profitably, you pay the price by going out of business.  And that’s the way it should be.
