The Shifting Landscape of Health Care

Posted on May 18, 2010

This is just in case you missed the Hot Air thread earlier today.  It seems that the fallout of Healthcare Reform is already beginning with a number of doctors selling off their practices to become employees and insurance companies buying up clinics and practices to force providers to accept reduced payments.  In short, it’s called “defensive business arrangements” and it looks like the odds of you being able to keep your doctor (as was promised by the Democrats and the President) are getting longer.

Also contained on the same thread is a story from the Houston Chronicle.  It seems with the federal government’s ever lower reimbursement rates for Medicare patients, more and more doctors are opting out of seeing any Medicare patients at all.
