CNN Discussing Holding Bloggers “Accountable,” Pushing for Internet Regulation?

Posted on July 23, 2010

Using the Shirley Sherrod story as an example, CNN discusses trying to regulate/hold bloggers accountable for what they post. I can’t help but think that they are trying to create the atmosphere of some type of crisis so government can step in and save us all.

Since when has free speech been a problem?  Only when you want to silence the message of those who are speaking.

What is the largest irony of it all is the secretive Journolist which has come to light recently.  A group of 400 or so people involved in the main stream media, academics and political activism who seemed to work together behind the scenes and try to determine how to slant stories in a way which benefitted those whom they supported.   And they have the nerve to want to censor the free speech rights of others?
