Gallup’s Generic Congressional Ballot Puts Republicans Back on Top

A couple of weeks ago when Gallup came out with generic ballot numbers showing Republicans trailing Democrats while still maintaining a big lead in enthusiasm from their respective party voters, “perplexed” was the word to describe the reaction of most.   Now it seems the political polling has righted itself in comparison to the enthusiasm gap between the two parties.  The latest generic congressional ballot results are as follows:


And if that news isn’t bad enough for Democrats, the Republicans are leading in enthusiasm by a 2 to 1 ratio:


Things seem to be making a little more sense now.
