Witchcraft will no longer receive tax exempt status in Romania

As the saying goes, “Nothing’s for certain in life but death and taxes,” and it looks like the witches of Romania have lost their battle to avoid paying their share:

Romania has changed its labor laws to officially recognize witchcraft as a profession, prompting one self-described witch to threaten retaliation.

The move, which went into effect Saturday, is part of the government’s drive to crack down on widespread tax evasion in a country that is in recession.

So what does one witch plan to do to show her disapproval?  She’s promising to cast a spell, of course.
